The organisation was created as a social welfare group to help its members and the public in different areas.

The group focuses on reaching out to many organisations, sick persons, hospitals, widows and other vulnerable people.

The unveiling of the equipment was part of the activities to celebrate their husbands during the anniversary. There was a walk round the hospital and presentation of a souvenir to the leader of the team, Dr. Ada Ajunwa, wife of Major General O.C. Ajunwa, the new GOC, 81 Division, Lagos.

At the end of the event, the equipment was tested to see its effectiveness. The recipients and guests beamed with smiles watching the equipment working.

Captain Amodu Shehu Mohammed, a surgeon, who was represented by Commander Chidebere Anyawu, made the unveiling. He highlighted that the equipment would be for surgery, which would help to reduce the pints of blood that patients lose during surgery. He said the  other machine would also be used to scan pregnancy.

Ajunwa said: “This is part of the activities scheduled for the event and we are celebrating with them with these machines. Also, the essence of the donation is to promote the cause of humanity. We also have same medical equipment donated to Kaduna, so it is not only here in Lagos.”

She said the choice of the medical equipment was to help reduce the many gaps  in Nigeria’s health care delivery. She believed that the group would for a long time be remembered for the gesture.
