Barry Krug, 64, of Ebensburg R.D., died October 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born December 29, 1958, in Spangler, son of Patrick and Jean Ann (Adams) Krug. Preceded in death by his father on February 3, 2023. Survived by his mother of Loretto, R.D., his loving wife of 42 years, the former Cathy Weiland, whom he married October 3, 1981, in Loretto, children: Chad (Joan Bender) of Loretto R.D., and Kelly (Shawn) Cole of Ebensburg, 4 grandchildren: Logan, Zac, Gavin, and Grant, a brother, Greg (Christine Barry) Krug of Big Timber, MT. Also survived by an aunt, an uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law. Barry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and fishing. He had owned and operated C&K Powder Coating, and had worked for Pennstress for a number of years. Member of Chest Springs Sportsmens Club and the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes and Rev. Justin Treon concelebrants. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St. Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday. When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
